Where to begin? It’s been a while, and it’s one of those times where you just have to much to say that you can’t say anything at all. Well looking down at the calendar, I’ve almost been away from home and things for about 8 months now. Where did those 8 months go? I don’t know, they wouldn’t say… I wish I could just sum up the past while in a little blurb like you did with everyone else, if I tried it would probably say, “I’m on a mission and having the time of my life. Though I still don’t speak spanish.” That’s been probably the roughest part so far, we oonly have like one family that we teach that speaks spanish so I don’t get much practice. But! Good news, I’m moving up to Orem Utah. Just in case you don’t know it’s the city right next to Provo, where I went to BYU. I spent much of my time in that city before, but it’s going to be a little different now. And I also hear that they have a lot of spanish people there that we can talk to. That will be really exciting. My companion right now is actually from Brazil so he speaks portuguese all the time and it sounds like funky talk. I’ve been able to pick up a tiny bit though. It’s a really great experiance.
Hmm, let’s see what else? Since I’ve been on my mission I’ve learned how to play racquet ball (sp?) and it’s actually a lot of fun. Unfortunately I only get 30 minutes each morning to (argh stupid english) exercise (sp?) para ejercer. And all we have is a big blue rubber band too. It’s ok though, just don’t expect me to come back looking like Sylvester Stallone in Rocky 4. Especially when every single house we walk into feeds us ice cream and cookies. and you can’t say no, ya know? I think people here value that part of the food pyramid more then the rest of it.
I don’t know if I ever told you our daily schedule, but maybe this will give you a better idea of what is going on. *ahem
6:30 - Wake up, shower, exercise, eat breakfast, get ready for the day
8:00 - Personal study (Scriptures, lesson manuals, things of the like.)
9:00 - Companionship study (see above, but with companion.)
10:00 - Study Spanish
11:00 - Eat Lunch
12:00 - Go preach, teach, knock on doors looking for new people to teach, check on people that have been referred to us, etc.
5:00 - Eat Dinner
6:00 - Go preach, teach, knock on doors looking for new people to teach, check on people that have been referred to us, etc.
9:00 - Go back home, unless we are in an appointment then we can stay out till 9:30.
9:00, 9:30 - Plan for the next day, update records, call people
10:30 - Sleep
Rinse and repeat for 2 years.
Sometimes it varies, like every monday, we have from 10am - 6pm to shop, do laundry, write letters and things like that. And then on sunday we go to about 5 hours of church, talking to people we are teaching and making sure that they are doing good and we answer their questions and things like that.
It’s really good though, I’m loving it. And all of this week get to do in styling white shirts, ties and slacks, and sometimes suits (during the winter and meetings.)
It’s not all fun and games though, sometimes on monday we do things like go to the Grand Canyon and have fun as a bunch of missionaries and things like that.
It’s so crazy…Hearing everything that is going on back home, and I hope that everything turns out alright with everyone there. That would be nice. You keep yourself out of trouble too. = )
So that’s pretty much the life here, I’ll try to send you some really exciting stories some time. And yes, feel free to post any picture that I send your way. For times sake I can’t really write to anyone, but I think of them and you, but try not to, because it makes me home sick, ya know?
Well anyways, have a blast with your new majoy and your TA job and all this good stuff that is happening. And I guess I’ll talk to you later,
Te quiero,
Sean

It is of interest to note that the upper right portion of the Arizona stateline photograph was used for cloud overlays on one of the Ink concept pieces.

I have told Stephen, and now I tell the world: Sean’s pictures go great with many songs performed by Depeche Mode. Try “I Promise You I Will”. It is good to hear from Sean.
