What are your favorite albums to cruise to? The past year or so I’ve particularly enjoyed Aha Shake Heartbreak, Because of the Times, and Only By the Night all by Kings of Leon.

so, hailevb, just to be clear, you meant The Notorious B.I.G.?
Both VW albums are really chopping my tarts. Best recommendation I’ve had in a very long time.
Silent Alarm and Different Class didn’t float my boat.
Hangesta Hill (eng) was pretty good, but ultimately didn’t do it for me. If 747 was on it, then maybe.
I’ve never really explored Yes. I enjoyed Close to the Edge, but it doesn’t really seem like something to cruise to.
Big PUSA fan, but not gonna cruise to it.
Still to check: Biggie, SoaD, Chrono Cross, Richard D James.
i consider this post my most successful to date. and today, i consider myself (self-self-self)… the luckiest man (man-man-man)… on the face of the earth (earth-earth-earth)
For Aphex Twin I would suggest the Richard D James album.
I don’t know if there are multiple Chrono Cross OSTs. I know Overclocked Remix has done a lot of remixes of the songs and sometimes they get mixed into OSTs if you pirate them.
I would definitely agree the Frankenstein Girls is the best MSI album.
I checked out Vampire Weekend. I find their music extremely flavorful. I enjoyed it, but I think it’ll take me a little while to really get the taste for it.
wow, that’s a pretty good idea. that pet sounds album cover really has a strong medieval feel. maybe kind of a seventh seal type movie
Speaking of Beach Boys, I was thinking that there are quite a few musicians that have musicals based on their music, or lives. Well I think it is about time for a Beach Boys one. I am currently writing a screen play set in the Medieval period full of Beach Boys songs. So far it include, Help Me Rhonda, I Get Around, Wouldn’t it Be Nice, and California Girls. I think it will win a couple of Tony’s easy.
i was really digging Kate as a sort of cruise tune. not a huge BFF fan tho, so i’ll stop there
Really surprised at Abbey Road… Really don’t see cruzin to that
I alluded to the Beach Boys in a previous comment. I think ‘I Get Around’ is one of the best cruise tunes. However, I’m trying to focus more on albums and I don’t know a Beach Boys compilation I’d want to hear every track of
“NIGGER!”
im down with rap and of coarse the genre of lil wayne
Well, if it isn’t the girl of the hour! *Flips hair
Would it be too obvious to say The Beach Boys?
I second Sean’s comment elsewhere regarding Weezer’s Pinkerton, that’s one of my absolute favorites to drive to. I’d add the Blue Album in there too.
I’m also a big fan of driving to Ben Folds Five’s self-titled album and Ben Folds’s Rockin’ the Suburbs. And then Abbey Road is big for me. But most of the albums I love to drive to are ones I love to sing to too, which I think is true of a lot of people, so it’s pretty subjective I suppose.
not into music atm. But would lissen to eric prydz “call on me” (not winwood’s valerie). And various local rap musix xations.
I must agree on the Aphex Twin comment.
I can usually listen to just about anything while driving, but lately i’ve been getting into
Vampire weekend – Vampire Weekend
Yes – Close to the Edge (I am particularly fond of And you and I/Eclipse…the second “song” on the cd). Actually, Yes is very good overall for driving.
And of course…PUSA
Ah, I agree. Would you say Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy is the best MSI album? On my last visit, I chatted with a young woman for about 3 hours (however long it is to fly from BoCo to Bama) that, to my surprise, enjoyed MSI.
I’ll check out this Aphex Twin and this Chrono Cross OST. What’s the best Aphex album? I guess there’s multiple Chrono Cross’ (?), do you mean the original?
I usually listen to MSI or Queens of the Stone Age.
Lately I’ve been listening to the Chrono Cross OST and Aphex Twin because they are very relaxing.
Oh, and some of The Queefs stuff, like Songs for the Deaf is good too. Go With The Flow is outstanding. I suspect Robin will bring this up.
Pretty much anything from System of a Down keeps me raging.
i really enjoy fever to tell. i think, for me, this will be more of a B side for driving tuneskis. i’ll check out silent alarm and biggie.
yeah yeah yeahs-fever to tell
bloc party-silent alarm
and whenever danny is driving we usually end up listening to biggie.
I should have named this post ‘I Get Around’.
Not sure I’ve heard that Kent song or any Pulp songs.
I vaguely recall a conversation abou this, but not during the Six Fags O’er Georasia trip. Maybe it’s unrelated, but I think you mentioned that you tried to drive straight into a exit ramp divider barricade once and XS steered you away.
I used to love driving to the sound of Hangesta Hill by Kent, but it got kind of dangerous. I do not know if you remember me telling you this or not (I believe it was on the way back from Six Fags), but there is this one song towards the end of the album called Rollercoaster, and every time I hear it I want to drive as fast as I can in just a straight line. Stev-N, I believe you made a remark about this, but I cannot remember what it was. Asides from that I also enjoy listening to the album Different Class by Pulp.
